Alice Bryk Silveira is a Visiting Scholar at the Food Law and Policy Clinic. Alice is a licensed lawyer from Brazil, holding a Law Degree from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul and an LLM in International Human Rights Law from Tel Aviv University. Currently, she is part of Professor’s Melanie Levy Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) Eccellenza project “The Increasing Weight of Regulation: The Role(s) of Law as a Public Health Tool in the Prevention State” at the University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland. Her Ph.D. thesis is titled “Involving risk creators? A legal analysis of public-private partnerships as a response to non-communicable diseases” and focuses on public-private partnerships as an alternative tool for NCDs prevention and public health promotion, focusing particularly on collaborations between food industries and public authorities.
Alice’s research interests include international human rights, public health law, and food law. Her work with the Food Law and Policy Clinic (FLPC) highlights her dedication to improving food access and nutrition. With a comprehensive background in human rights and public health law, Alice focuses on using legal approaches to enhance food systems, particularly in how to legally establish volunteer agreements between the food industry and public health authorities to foster better health outcomes.
