The White House is hosting a Conference on Hunger, Nutrition and Health in September 2022. The last conference, held in 1969, was the first of its kind and changed the trajectory of food policy over the subsequent 50 years. The goal of this year’s conference is to end hunger by 2030, and increase healthy eating and physical activity to reduce the number of Americans that experience diet-related illnesses, including diabetes, hypertension, and obesity.
The Harvard Law School Food Law and Policy Clinic (FLPC) has contributed to this initiative by submitting recommendations that are informed by our work with our partners on issues of food recovery, food security, nutrition education, food access, food is medicine, and nutrition research.
