Policy advocates and SNAP beneficiaries welcomed Friday’s rulings blocking the Trump administration from halting food stamp payments but emphasized that many questions remain.
On Saturday, EBT cards across Massachusetts were not reloaded with November benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, known as SNAP.
This followed an order on Friday from a Rhode Island judge ordering the Trump administration to use contingency funds to continue providing SNAP benefits during the shutdown, and a separate ruling from a Boston judge directing the administration to report by the end of Monday whether it will cover at least some benefits.
