2023 Food Waste Solutions Summit

Western North Carolina’s third 2023 Food Waste Solutions Summit is a regional gathering of businesses, nonprofit organizations, and academic leaders aimed at disrupting food waste, growing community collaboration, and identifying solutions.

Food Law and Policy Clinic Clinical Instructor Heather Latino will present at the Summit along with Professor Alice Ammerman from UNC-Chapel Hill. Their presentation, “Policy in Action – Tools, Programs and Partnerships that Advance State Level Policy” will offer a deep dive into cutting edge initiatives supporting and activating state-level efforts to tackle food waste across the U.S. and in North Carolina.

Latino will share about the Harvard Food Law and Policy Clinic’s groundbreaking research, publications, and collaborations with NRDC, WWF, ReFED and the Zero Waste Food Coalition that have paved the way for state level action by identifying common barriers to food donation and best policy practices.
