The types of policy work that the Center for Health Law and Policy Innovation does is only one aspect of successful advocacy. Grassroots mobilization, including attendance at town hall meetings, tele-town halls, and visits to local offices, is a crucial tool to influence policy. The Health Law and Policy Clinic has invited the Vice President of Community Mobilization and National Advocacy and the National Advocacy Coordinator of Housing Works, the largest community based and the largest minority-controlled AIDS service organization in the United States, to come speak to us about their efforts to train advocates across the country to mobilize effectively to protect access to health care. This is a great opportunity for us to learn more about the grassroots side to politics and policy.
This event is only open to HLS students.
