Climate Symposium 2023

The Climate Symposium is a student-run conference at Harvard, and the theme for the 2023 Climate Symposium is “Adopting Climate Solutions at Scale.” 

Food and Law Clinic Clinical Instructor Heather Latino will speak at the Symposium, as part of the panel on Food Supply Chain & Waste. The panel will explore the reality of food waste in the US, where 38% of the annual food supply goes unsold or uneaten, costing households, food producers and businesses $444 billion each year, and generating 380 million metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions.  

Latino will speak on food date labeling at the Symposium, as the panel discusses strategies to cut waste, reduce environmental impact, and address the ambitious goals set by EPA/USDA to cut 50% of food waste by 2030.
