Food Matters: Innovative Strategies for an Equitable and Sustainable Food System
Tuesday, April 26 | 4:30 – 6:30 PM
Barat House, Boston College Law School
RSVP by Thursday, April 21 to rappaport@bc.edu
Celebrate the end of the semester with delicious food and dialogue with dynamic leaders in the emerging field of food policy. The Rappaport Center for Law and Public Policy presents an engaging discussion with leaders and advocates who are changing the nature of the food system. Just like a meal brings us together, our food system is a nexus of business, government, advocacy, and activism shaped by food policy.
Every day, we encounter food. But what do we really know about the origin of our food, how our food is made, and the impact our food system has on our health, the environment, and communities? In the U.S., we produce far more food than we consume and nearly half goes to waste while millions of people are undernourished. As the world becomes more globalized, a nationwide conversation is drawing attention to how we can ensure access and justice in our food system.
Join us and be part of the conversation to learn about major policy issues and how you can use your career to pursue an equitable and sustainable food system while unwinding from the year. Enjoy delicious local fare from Fresh Food Generation with friends and colleagues!
